Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) says it has closed its Santa Cruz tax office for today because of electricity issues.

The TAJ says recent severe weather is impacting power supply in the town and that the office has had to contend with a damaged standby generator.

It says these issues have resulted in services being heavily compromised at the tax office.

Taxpayers are being advised to use the Black River and Mandeville tax offices or online at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm to conduct transactions.

The tax authority says staff at the Santa Cruz location are being redeployed to bolster personnel at Black River and Mandeville to ensure a smooth flow of customer traffic.

The TAJ says the public will be advised about the resumption of services at the Santa Cruz tax office.
