The Narcotics Police, working alongside the Contraband Enforcement Team of Jamaica Customs, yesterday seized approximately 28 kilograms of cocaine at a port in Kingston.

The police say the drugs have an estimated street value of $30 million.

No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

The police say about 2:30 a.m. a team was inspecting a shipping container that arrived in the island from Venezuela when they discovered anomalies.

They say this led to a more detailed search during which 25 packages containing cocaine were found concealed in the container.
