Former Housing Minister Easton Douglas is dead

Former housing minister and vice president of the People's National Party (PNP), Easton Xavier Wenthworth Douglas, is dead.
Douglas, 81, died at his St Andrew home this morning after a long battle with cancer. He was hospitalised two weeks ago but doctors.
His brother Dr Conrad Douglas said the family was deeply saddened by the loss and in time will provide further details.
Douglas, who is the holder of an Order of Jamaica, also served as health minister, permanent secretary in the Ministry of National Security and town planner under the PNP administration.
