The Paradise Bridge, which is located along the Ferris Cross to Dunbar’s River roadway in Westmoreland, has been closed to vehicular traffic.
The National Works Agency (NWA) says this is necessary as the bridge has been compromised and is deemed unsafe for vehicles to traverse.
The NWA says a damage assessment is being done, following which steps will be taken to repair the structure.
Motorists travelling from Ferris Cross to the direction of Savanna-la-mar should use the alternative routes through Strathbogie, Amity, and Piper’s Corner.
Road users are being advised to obey warning signs.
