It was the realisation that nowadays men are not necessarily standing firm in the posts they were called to fill that led gospel minister, Johnoy 'God Artiste' Davis to seek God about hosting a forum that would serve to motivate them.

Dubbing the initiative the 'Born to Dominate Men's Conference', Davis told Family & Religion that the society lacks events which cater to men, who, according to him, have been lagging behind despite being created to lead.

ENCOURAGEMENT

"The first thing that happened was that I saw women empowering themselves while the males did nothing. I spoke about it (hosting a conference for men) a number of times and every time I did, I was encouraged to do it by at least one person," he said, adding that he also prayed about going forward with the idea, and some two weeks after, got the go-ahead to start planning its inaugural staging.

The Born to Dominate Men's Conference is set for today at the Jamaica Youth for Auditorium starting at 9 a.m.

Among the speakers are psychotherapist at Family Life Ministries and host of Love 101's Male Box, Kevin Bailey, and pastor at Light of the Gentiles International, Dean Smith.

"We will be reminding the men of the fact that they/we were created to be the priest in the house. We will also be addressing the issues that arise when children are raised without their father," Davis said of the event's expectations.
