Firearms seized in East Kingston

Two firearms along with 41 rounds of ammunition were seized during a joint police-military operation along Bryden Street, Kingston 16 on Tuesday.

The police report that the team conducted searches in a number of premises in the area when a Taurus nine millimetre pistol along with a magazine containing twenty-one 9 millimetre ammunition was seized.

According to the police, another premises was searched and a second firearm – one black Springfield XDM pistol with a magazine containing twenty 9 millimetre rounds - was seized and a man, who was allegedly found hiding under a cellar, taken into custody.

His identity is being withheld pending further investigations by the police.
