Petrojam Report | HR practices inconsistent, some lack transparency
Auditor General Pamela Monroe Ellis has found that the human resource recruitment practices at the state-owned entity Petrojam were inconsistent with internal policies.
It's among a series of damning findings contained in the Auditor General's report tabled in Parliament Tuesday afternoon.

"In employing good practices in the recruitment and selection process, especially for sensitive positions, we would expect Petrojam to first advertise the vacancy in order to obtain a pool of potential candidates with the desired knowledge, skills and experience," said Monroe Ellis in the report.
"This would allow for the selection of the most suitable persons to fill vacant positions against defined job descriptions and specifications."
In the report, Monroe Ellis said it is essential for Petrojam to have a good recruitment process to attract the right skill sets for its business needs.
She further wrote that Petrojam should screen potential candidates and shortlist those most suitable for interview, assessment and selection.
She also found that Petrojam does not have an approved list of established posts.
COMING TOMORROW:
1. Surprise parties for minister cost millions
2. "Explicit" acts of nepotism in hiring at Petrojam.
