Following the passing of his mentor, Dr Miles Monroe, in 2014, gospel minister and purpose advocate Rondell Positive Allen was struck with a vision that he intends to use to activate the purpose in others, as was triggered in himself.

"I recognised the need to direct people to living on purpose. This was because when I found my purpose I came to the understanding that there's more to life than what I was doing, as at the time I was teaching. I recognised that I needed to be a source of activation to others. That is what inspired Purpose Summit," Allen explained.

The conference with a difference saw his wife, Lotoya, as co-conceptualiser and was launched in January 2018 with second staging in October, both of which have transformed the lives of many.

The event, which was initially staged under the theme A Renewed Genesis and later LEAP, returns today, January 5, at the Courtleigh Auditorium, taking the theme Destiny Resolve, which, according to Allen, suggests that one's future is not only ahead of one, but one actually carries it every day.

He told Family & Religion that the theme is based on the story of Joseph, the Bible character who many people remember in a pit, prison or a palace, but very few recognise that his purpose was to get Israel into Egypt, as pointed out in Psalm 105.

The speakers, who Allen said were all chosen because of their powerful stories, will include media personality and author Kerie-Ann 'Kiki' Thombs; Olympic champion and philanthropist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce; pastor and gospel artiste Ryan Mark; and Bishop Courtney McClean.

The panel, which will include the 'purpose man', was carefully chosen to carry out the charge of the event, which he identified as helping each individual recognise that he or she already possesses their success built-in.

According to him, "Just as seeds carry the potential of a tree with fruits in itself and await the right environment and care to reproduce itself, every individual has been equipped to affect the world with their gifting."
