Dermon Spence is new permanent secretary for agriculture ministry
Dermon Spence has replaced Donovan Stanberry as the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Industry, Commence, Agriculture and Fisheries.
The appointment was confirmed and acknowledged by portfolio minister Audley Shaw and Prime Minister Andrew Holness today at the launch of the Essex Valley Agriculture Development project in St Elizabeth.
Stanberry, who has been the permanent secretary for almost a decade, has been seconded to the University of the West Indies, Mona.
Spence was previously the chief technical director in the agriculture ministry.
Meanwhile, Holness has expressed full confidence Spence noting he has known him as a diligent professional.
