Popular music promoter ‘Roy Fowl’ or ‘Father Fowl’ was shot and killed near Half Way Tree, in St Andrew last night.

‘Roy Fowl’, real name Owen Clarke, 62, was the leader of an international drug ring for several years.

In June 2004 he was found guilty in the United Kingdom of producing, supplying and possessing crack cocaine and sentenced to 13 years in prison.

The sentence was reduced by two years after his appeal.

‘Father Fowl’ was also the man behind the popular party series ‘British Link Up’.

The Half Way Tree Police reports that shortly before midnight Clarke was a patron at a party when armed men travelling on motorcycles opened fire hitting him several times.

He was pronounced dead at hospital.
