Witness recounts robbery spree by Uchence Wilson Gang

Another ex-member of the Uchence Wilson Gang on Monday provided details of robberies the gang allegedly carried out in St Catherine and St Mary, the latter of which he said was done on the recommendation of accused Detective Corporal Lloyd Knight.
The witness, who claims that he used to drive gang members around in exchange for money, said the gang robbed a woman in Glengoffe, St Catherine.
The witness said that although he did not participate in the robbery, he was told by Wilson that they had taken money, phone-cards and other items from the woman, from which he received $20,000.
According to the witness, Wilson said that they had also stole a Toyota Fortuner sport utility vehicle that was parked on the premises.
The former gang member was testifying via video link as the trial for Wilson and his alleged 24 cronies continued in the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston.
The witness, who is a former taxi operator, told the court that the gang conducted another robbery at the same house, during which they stole tools, tool sets, a jackhammer, a bed, clothing and shoes.
The witness said that from that robbery, said he received $12,000 from Fitzroy Scott and coins from Michael ‘Judge’ Lamont, both of who are on trial.
The former taxi operator said that the gang also carried out a robbery on a man selling fruits in St Mary on the recommendation of the accused policeman.
DIVIDED GANG
He said that at the time, the group was divided because of a dispute between Wilson and Scott.
The former gang member also outlined the role of Detective Corporal Knight in the criminal organisation.
He said that Knight was paid by Wilson to get a fellow gang member by the name Jason out of jail.
He further testified that Knight helped Wilson to get out of jail after the reputed gang leader was arrested just before boarding a flight to a Caribbean island.
The witness said that Wilson paid the policeman for his help.
According to the witness, Wilson referred to Knight as “one of his police link”.
Wilson and his 23 alleged gang members, which include four women, are on trial for breaches of the anti-gang legislation for crimes allegedly committed between 2015 and 2017.
