Misunderstood - Part III

Despite the ongoing discussion on whether riches are a gift from God to His people and poverty a devilish attack, proud servant of Christ Shanika Sutton posits that God wants to give believers wealth for the advancement of His Kingdom.

It is not strange nowadays to see Christian entertainers partnering with those who have not professed Christ as their Saviour.

These unequally yoked partnerships are often undertaken to bring ideas to fruition because of the believer’s lack of resources to do so on their own.

The young minister is, however, of the view that God’s plan for His children involves blessing them wholly so they can finance their Christ-inspired kingdom moves.

“God wants to give believers wealth to make more Christian movies, build studios so our young Christian artistes don’t have to collaborate with the world to get their music out there, to build shelters for the homeless, feed the hungry, go all around the world to spread the good news (which takes money), to provide jobs for young believers who need the help, to provide a home for the woman who has nowhere to go after she leaves her boyfriend, to build Christian schools and to develop more Christian-friendly cartoons and books,” she shared.

She reiterated her view that many misunderstand wealth to be evil and that God has been blessing faithful servants with wealth ever since olden days.

“God prospered David, and he used his wealth to purchase what was needed for the building of the temple. He needed money to fulfil the instruction of God. He was building the kingdom of God. He wasn’t greedy, and he didn’t love his money. He loved God.

So many cartoons on homosexuality are out there, and children are being influenced. So many demonic movies are out there, and people are entertained by them. In many school systems, the gospel can’t even be preached.

We need more believers who will influence the nation and build the kingdom of God. God wants to prosper believers in this way. Pray for God to enlarge your territory and prosper you for His glory,” she concluded.
