MANDEVILLE, Manchester:

“When it began for me professionally in 2017, it seemed as if it were divinely orchestrated to intertwine with my life path,” Ruschiene Deidrick began as she gave insight into how she has managed to change her life and those around her.

Treasure the Mind is her massage therapy brand that offers healing to the many individuals she sees from across the world.

“It catalysed my deep, personal healing and spiritual reconciliation. We all face challenges and battles within ourselves on varying degrees, and I am not exempt, and so I came to my own realisation of the dichotomy of the mind – its frailty and strength. Hence the name ‘Treasure The Mind’, to commemorate my memories of living in Treasure Beach, as well as a reminder to myself of being mentally vigilant,” Deidrick said.

ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE

She noted that it was while in Treasure Beach that she met a woman who had been practising alternative medicine and massage therapy for the past 20 years and, through her counsel, followed her calling.

“I prayed, meditated, even slept a little restless because somehow, I felt deep down that taking on this new venture might change my life – and it has! I am glad I stepped forward in courage to discover another gift within myself. The ongoing delight of self-discovery was the basis of inspiration,” said Deidrick.

She is not only a licensed massage therapist, but also a working mother, since 2013 a working actress, and a certified colour consultant.

“I have provided healing, rejuvenation and relaxation to persons across the world, namely the Americas, Europe and Asia. Treasure the Mind has participated in three exhibitions so far, in St Andrew and Mandeville, and currently provides massage therapy in Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth, and Mandeville,” Deidrick noted.

SETBACKS

Though she grew up well with good family support, she knows all too well what disappointments and devastating setbacks look like.

“I started The University of the West Indies at 17 years old and studied tourism management. During my attendance at the university, I had an unplanned pregnancy and had to take a year leave of absence. My parents divorced after doing their best to fight for their marriage for 21 years, and then, having returned to school, I now had to juggle between academia and raising my precious son. However, through it all, I came through, graduating with first-class honours! Thereafter, life continues,” she told Family and Religion.

She added: “The most challenging part in my pursuit of success is shutting out the irrelevant, outside chatters and naysayers as they detrimentally impacted my balancing act of positive self-belief. I believe that I have commenced to triumph via my thirsty quest for conscious spiritual enlightenment and unceasing, deliberate personal development. That began in 2010 through being mindful of what I say to myself, what I read, what I listen, who I hang with, affirmations, ongoing practices of prayer and meditation, etc, to be a lifetime work in progress,” she said.

With the Most High being at the core of her life, Deidrick expects that greater and continuous achievements and victories will be hers on this path of life.
