Teen killed in St Catherine crash

A 19 year-old died in a crash along the Salt Pond Road in St Catherine yesterday. 

The Gleaner understands that he was an upper sixth form student of the Wolmer's Boys School in Kingston. He has been identified as Hughdre McGhie. 

The crash happened around noon yesterday the police say, when McGhie, who was driving alone in a Subaru Impreza motor car headed to Spanish Town, lost control of the vehicle as he neared a bridge and collided into a Freightliner tractor. 

Fire fighters had to cut away the wreckage to remove McGhie from the mangled vehicle.
