Police yet to identify bodies found in Yelland, St Ann

Up to late yesterday evening the St Ann Police were still unable to ascertain the identities of three males, whose bodies were discovered with gunshot wounds along a lonely road in the community of Yelland, near Watt Town in the parish.
It was the fourth gun murder in St Ann last week, following a shooting last Sunday in Mammee Bay.
“Their identities have not been confirmed,” head of the St Ann Police, Superintendent Carlos Russell told The Gleaner.
Russell said it appears the men were travelling in a Toyota Corolla motorcar on the lonely road yesterday afternoon, when they were ambushed and their vehicle shot up.
Reports reaching The Gleaner are that passersby stumbled upon the bodies and called the police, who arrived at the scene shortly after 3:00 p.m.
Two of the bodies were discovered in the car, while the third was found in a gully. The two bodies in the car had what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
No motive has been established for the murders.
Sunday shooting
Last Sunday, a man, who was among four people shot at a bar in Mammee Bay died.
The attack was carried out by unknown assailants.
The dead man was identified as 34-year-old Lance Bird of a Mammee Bay South address. The incident happened about 1:40 p.m. while patrons were drinking. The three other persons who were shot, survived the attack.
