Update| Bodies in Yelland killing identified

The St Ann Police have now identified the three males whose bodies were discovered by a passerby along a lonely road in Yelland, St Ann yesterday. 

Superintendent of Police in charge of St Ann, Carlos Russell, said the three, which includes two teens and a man who had been charged for a gun-related offence a year ago, are from St Ann. 

They are: 

• Brandon Williams, 24, also known as 'Lando' of Madras district and Hollywood addresses in Steer Town 
• Romario Higgins, 18, otherwise known as 'Bashy' and 'Rum Rum' from Gibraltar 
• Herman Wilson, otherwise called 'Lucius' whose age has not yet been ascertained, but whom the police believe is the youngest of the three 

Russell said it appears the men were travelling in a Toyota Corolla motorcar along the Tobolski main road yesterday afternoon, when they were ambushed and their vehicle shot up.

He said a motorist noticed the vehicle along the lonely thoroughfare and called the police, who arrived at the scene shortly after 3:00 p.m. 

Higgins' body was seen on the back seat of the car with bullet wounds, while Wilson was found on an embankment close to the vehicle. Williams' body was found in a gully, 50 feet deep. 

Russell said the police are yet to establish a motive for the killings, given the loneliness of the area in which it happened. 

Sunday shooting 

The murders increased to four the number of killings in St Ann in the space of a week.

Last Sunday, a man, who was among four people shot at a bar in Mammee Bay, died. The attack was carried out by unknown assailants.  

The dead man was identified as 34-year-old Lance Bird of a Mammee Bay South address. The incident happened about 1:40 p.m. The three other persons who were shot, survived the attack.
