Fine Artist, Delroy Millwood, shows off his art work to Edmund Bartlett, (centre) minister of Tourism and David Dobson, chief technical director of the Ministry of Tourism at the 8th staging of the Christmas in July tradeshow at Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, on Knutsford Boulevard in New Kingston on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

The Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) is now accepting applications for this year’s staging of its ‘Christmas in July’ trade show.

The event provides an opportunity for local producers of gifts and souvenir items to promote their products to alternative market segments.

Products may be from the categories of desktop solutions, spa and aromatherapy, décor, clothing, fine art, jewellery, souvenirs, food, and products created from organic and natural fibres.

Interested companies and individuals are being asked to complete an Expression of Interest Form via the TEF’s website at www.tef.gov.jm, and submit all required information by May 10 at 5p.m.

Among the selection criteria are the overall design, durability, labelling and the tags, packaging and accessories, pricing, functionality, product relevance and cultural connections.

Since 2014, the Christmas in July tradeshow has showcased more than 1,000 local manufacturers and artisans who have earned approximately $150 million from the tourism industry and corporate Jamaica.

Christmas in July is a collaborative effort of the Tourism Linkages Network, a division of the TEF, and its partners, the Jamaica Business Development Corporation, Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, Jamaica Promotions Corporation, and Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association.
