Middle Managers Leadership Conference 2024 introduces pitch competition

The Middle Managers Leadership Conference 2024 (MMC 2024) will host a middle managers’ pitch competition designed to nurture middle managers’ skills in adaptability, courage, public speaking, and presentation. The event is scheduled to take place on May 1 and 2 as a highlight of the conference.

The competition begins with a selection process on May 1, where all conference delegates will have an opportunity to present an abstract on the topic, ‘Beyond Technical Skills and into Power and Soft Skills’. Up to five delegates will be selected on a first-come-first-served basis to present their summaries, with live voting determining the top three finalists. This ensures a fair and transparent process, respecting the value of each participant’s contribution.

On May 2, the pitch process starts with the top three finalists presenting their ideas to a panel of judges and conference attendees. Each finalist will have 10 minutes to present, followed by a 15-minute question and answer session. A panel of judges will evaluate the presentations at the conference.

The panel includes Cordel Williams-Graham, president of the Young Entrepreneurs Association and CEO of Transformational Life Solutions; Emru Williams, finance director of Jamaica Public Service Company; and Jamie-Lee Williams, associate professor at the University College of the Caribbean. The presentations will be evaluated based on various criteria, including the accuracy of information, depth of experience, creativity, relevance to the conference theme, and adherence to time limits.

The winner of the middle managers’ pitch competition will be announced on May 2.
