Mother in custody after eight-year-old boy perishes in fire

An eight-year-old boy perished in a fire at his home in Top Lincoln, Grange Hill, Westmoreland, on Friday.

The Morgan's Bridge police say about 11:40 p.m., Ramiel Richardson was alone in the house when it caught fire.

His mother, who was outside, raised an alarm and the fire department was contacted.

After the cooling down operation the lifeless body of Ramiel was seen lying on the ground.

He was taken to the hospital where his death was confirmed.

The mother has been taken into custody pending further investigations.
