New York City Mayor Eric Adams has declared Saturday, May 11, Issa Trust Foundation Day in New York.

The special honour is in recognition of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to raise funds for the construction of the Mary Issa Paediatric and Adolescent Health Center in St Ann, Jamaica.

The proclamation will be presented at the second New York ‘For The Children Gala,’ slated for May 11 at the elegant Cipriani’s 42nd Street, that will feature reggae ambassadors Third World with special guests Luciano, Gramps Morgan, and Kumar. The event will begin at 7 p.m. with cocktails, followed by dinner at 8 p.m., and dancing, silent auction, and entertainment.

A huge turnout is expected, and this year’s special guest at the gala will be the patron of the foundation, Lady Allen, wife of Jamaica’s governor general.

Since its inception, the Issa Trust Foundation has been instrumental in reducing child mortality rates, thanks to partnerships with organisations like Direct Relief and the National Health Fund.

“We are passionately committed to providing world-class holistic services that address the physical, mental, and social needs of our young people and their families, and that’s why we are hosting this unforgettable For The Children Gala in New York City to raise funds to complete our mission” Paul Issa, chairman of The Issa Trust Foundation, told The Gleaner.
