The Portland police today apprehended another group of Haitians after the mini bus they were travelling in suffered a punctured tyre along the Dolphin Bay main road in Port Antonio.

A pregnant woman and children were among the persons held.

They are believed to be members from a group which landed illegally at a beach in Hectors River in the dead of night on Sunday.

Police sources have confirmed that at least 14 Haitians were intercepted aboard a black Nissan Serena mini bus shortly after 11 o'clock Wednesday morning after the vehicle developed a punctured tyre.

Passers-by, who reportedly saw strange people exiting the vehicle, alerted the police.

On Monday, the police apprehended eight Haitians in separate locations in Hectors River.
