Less than two days after restoring operations at its Darling Street Wastewater Plant in Kingston, the National Water Commission (NWC) is reporting that there are more challenges at the facility as a result of garbage.

The pump at the facility began malfunctioning on Saturday, June 15 and the matter was rectified by Sunday, June 16.

However, within 24 hours after fixing the pump, another heavy influx of debris entered the sewerage network, again damaging the equipment at the facility.

The NWC says it is working to restore operations at the facility by later today.
