New toll rates being proposed for Highway 2000

The Ministry of Transport is seeking public feedback on proposed toll rate adjustments for Highway 2000, which are set to take effect next week Saturday, July 6.

The notice was published today and persons have five days within which to provide their feedback.

All classes of vehicles will see rates going up, ranging from a low of $20 to a high of $200.

The operator of the highway will continue to offer discounts to T-Tag drivers.

Here are the proposed new toll rates: 

Portmore Toll Plaza

Class 1 
Current rate: $340
Proposed New Rate: Remains at $360
T-Tag Discount Rate: $350

Class 2
Current rate: $610
Proposed new rate: $660
T-Tag Discount Rate: $630

Class 3
Current rate: $1,020
Proposed new rate: Remains at $1,090
No T-Tag discount

Spanish Town Toll Plaza 

Class 1

Proposed new rate: $270
T-Tag Discount Rate: $260

Class 2
Current rate: $430
Proposed new rate: $470
T-Tag Discount Rate: $440
