Nora Miller-Welsh, Jamaica's oldest centenarian and devoted Seventh-day Adventist Church member died on Saturday.

Miller-Welsh was 110 years old and lived in Blenheim, Hanover.

Her caregivers told The Gleaner that she became unresponsive while taking her morning shower on Saturday, July 6, and they summoned the police.

Ms Nor, as she was affectionately known in her community, served in her local church as head deaconess before she became bedridden.

In May, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security led by portfolio minister Parnell Charles Jr provided a gift basket on a visit in celebration of National Centenarian Day.
