PHILADELPHIA, PA:

Some 30 educational institutions across Jamaica will be presented with learning devices donated by the Jamaica Diaspora/USA Northeast Region. The presentation will take place during worship services at the Phillippo Baptist Church, 9 William Street, Spanish Town, on Sunday, July 28 at 10a.m.

The donation effort was launched at the just concluded Tenth Biennial Conference at the Montego Bay Convention Centre where laptop computers were presented to a number of schools, including Lethe Basic and Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College in St James.

A letter from Michelle Tulloch Neil, chair of the Global Jamaica Diaspora Council/USA Northeast Region, to the schools, notes that the devices represent the council’s dedication to supporting education across the island and ensuring that students have the tools necessary for their growth and personal development.
