Three suspected robbers were reportedly killed and another two others seriously injured in an alleged gunfight in close proximity to Burger King in Negril, Westmoreland, this morning.

According to reports, the robbers, who are believed to have travelled to the location in several vehicles, were seemingly about to attack a cash-in-transit vehicle when they were accosted by a police team.

The men reportedly challenged the police and during the ensuing gunfight, five of them were shot.

“We cannot declare them dead, that is the job of a doctor,” a police source told The Gleaner. “However, based on my observation, I can unofficially say three of them are deceased and two have been transported to hospital with serious injuries.”
