Teenage boy among three arrested for alleged gun possession in Spanish Town
The Spanish Town police have arrested three people, including a 16-year-old boy, in connection with the seizure of an illegal gun along the Spanish Town Bypass on Sunday.
The three suspects are from Corporate Area addresses.
The police say about 1:00 a.m., a team carried out an intelligence-driven operation in the vicinity of Food for the Poor when a Nissan Teana with three men aboard was signalled to stop and the driver complied.
The vehicle was taken to the Spanish Town Police Station where a search was conducted during which a nine millimetre pistol affixed with a magazine containing 17 rounds of ammunition was allegedly discovered.
The three men were arrested on suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
