Guardsman Group Limited celebrated 30 outstanding students at its annual scholarship event held on August 27, at the Hope Zoo in Kingston.

The August 27 event brought together the scholarship recipients who had excelled in their Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examinations, and their families for a memorable luncheon and handover ceremony. The gathering was an opportunity to honour the students’ achievements and to underscore the importance of education in shaping a brighter future.

Kenneth Benjamin, chairman of Guardsman Group said: “This is an occasion of joy for me as we celebrate and reward the achievements of the children of our security officers.”

“The scholarship programme is dear to my heart because I truly believe that education plays a key role in building a bright future not only for our youth but for anyone at any age. As corporate citizens, we all have a responsibility to give back and to make our island nation a better place. “Guardsman Group aims to both reward high-achieving students and encourage our security officers to continue supporting their children’s educational pursuits.”

The event was further enriched by the support of organisations and community members. Main sponsor Hope Zoo provided the venue at the Treehouse and facilitated a tour of the Zoo to all awardees and families. Product donations such as computer tablets from Pinglinks issued by Managing Director Brandon McKoy to the top students, stationery from Neveast Supplies to all awardees and lunch catered and donated by Kingston Jerk.

Group Director Valerie Juggan-Brown surprised all families with a one-year free pass to the Hope Zoo, while Brandon McKoy of Pinglinks confirmed that the company would again be on board for sponsoring next year.

Guardsman Group thanked all sponsors and contributors, whose support made this year’s event a resounding success. Since 1998, Guardsman Group has been dedicated to supporting the children of its security officers through scholarship awards and stationery packages.
