University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona alumnus, Jamar Salmon, is among three Caribbean graduates selected this year to participate in the highly competitive C&W Communications Graduate Programme, an opportunity he describes as a “dream come true”.

Salmon has been assigned to Flow Jamaica, a subsidiary of C&W Communications, a leading telecommunications and entertainment provider in the region.

He is very excited about exploring the opportunities available in product creation and business analysis, and is already very passionate about the work at Flow to serve customers.

“The C&W Communications Graduate Programme is second to none, and the opportunities and resources that the company will invest in me will undoubtedly enable me to develop as a leader, both professionally and personally,” he shared.

He recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Management Studies and Tourism Management from the University of the West Indies and also holds certification in financial investments from Bloomberg Education.

“We are thrilled to welcome the third cohort of graduates as we nurture and develop the next generation of leaders within the industry,” stated Dom Boon, Vice President of People. “The Graduate Programme reflects our commitment to investing in emerging talent in the Caribbean region, by providing these young professionals with the tools, resources and guidance to excel in their individual career paths”.

This year’s C&W Graduates include Joshua Walters from Barbados, and Sherene Soochit from Trinidad & Tobago.

Boon further shares, “We are doing our part to ensure that these talented young professionals can embrace future leadership roles in the business”.

According a company release, the Graduate Program targets recent university graduates with less than two years of experience and the potential for rapid advancement. Over the course of 24 months, participants engage in a series of challenging projects, immersive learning workshops, and mentoring experiences that equip them for managerial positions.

The C&W graduates join eight other graduates from C&W’s sister companies in Costa Rica, Panama and Puerto Rico.
