The police are advising the public that the Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine is temporarily closed to vehicular traffic due to the heavy rainfall. This is to ensure the safety of motorists as the road may be prone to landslides and flooding.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution and seek alternative routes during this time.

According to the National Works Agency (NWA), the road is now flooded, with storm water now flowing over the Flat Bridge.

“The flooding is associated with heavy rain that has been impacting the country over the past three days,” NWA said.

“The NWA is urging road users not to attempt to use the road through the Gorge at this time.

“The NWA continues to monitor the situation and will advise the public accordingly.”
