The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) says while its investigation of the murder of Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) member Private Ejay Domville has led to the apprehension of a man, the arrest is not directly related to the soldier's death.

The 31-year-old resident of Charles Street was arrested at approximately 12:10 p.m. on Saturday.

"As part of the investigation into the death of Private Domville, which occurred on Friday, August 23, 2024, in Kingston, detectives from the JCF have pursued several lines of inquiry. On Saturday, September 28, 2024, This individual was subsequently taken to the Major Investigations Division (MID) for questioning," the JCF said in a media release today.

The JCF has also clarified that the individual is not a serving member of the Force, noting that he was dismissed as a trainee over two years ago, following an unrelated incident.

Private Domville was part of a team that was on foot patrol in Denham Town when he was shot in the vicinity of Charles Street and Chestnut Lane. He was later taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
