Man arrested over seizure of homemade gun in St Andrew

The St Andrew North police have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with the seizure of a homemade gun and several rounds of ammunition.
Reports are that about 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, police personnel were on a targeted operation in Belvedere district when a premises was searched.
During the search, a homemade gun and five rounds of 12 gauge cartridges were discovered.
The man who occupied the premises was arrested on suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
His name is being withheld pending further investigation.
