Gun seized, man arrested in Sligoville

The Sligoville police in St Catherine have arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with the seizure of a nine millimetre pistol on Sunday.
The man, who is from St Andrew, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
Police reports state that, about 2:40 a.m, a police party was on operation along the Waugh Hill main road in Sligoville when the team signalled a motor vehicle to stop and the driver complied.
The firearm with a magazine containing 17 rounds of ammunition was allegedly discovered during a search of the vehicle.
