St Mary man hospitalised following machete attack by relative
A St Mary man is in hospital in serious condition after being attacked by a relative at their premises in the community of Bailey's Vale.
According to the police, the 48-year-old man reportedly returned home to find his bedroom door forced opened and the room ransacked.
The police said that an argument developed between the man and a family member, during which the relative allegedly attacked him with a machete, inflicting wounds to his head and hand.
The injured man was reportedly rushed to the Port Maria Hospital by residents, where he is being treated for chop wounds.
He remains in serious but stable condition.
The police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
