Cabana City creates waves on the waterfront
The premium summer event, Cabana City Reserve created waves at the waterfront in downtown Kingston last Sunday, giving a whole new meaning to premium-inclusive fiestas.
The all-inclusive biannual beach party usually kicks off as early as 2 p.m. to give patrons the opportunity to get the best of both worlds with a day-and-night experience.
Laden with beautiful cabanas, the fantastic backdrop of Kingston's waterfront, reflected the 'For you ... not for everyone' theme. Those who came by sea, docked their yachts nearby, adding to the decor forming part of the luxurious party area. As the sun set, the fashionistas descended on the waterfront turning it into the fashion event of the year.
One of the promoters Kevin Henry, told Outlook that Cabana City Reserve still serves the purpose of bringing life back to downtown, Kingston. This year, there were a few changes. "There are more cabanas than last year, different arrangements and colours, the space is tighter to have a more intimate vibe. There is also more overseas support and 'collabs'. There were also more than 30 tables, which is 'the most at any one event ever' and definitely more people," a clearly elated Henry emphasised.
Synonymous with a premium-inclusive event are some of the more premium brands in their top-shelf - Skyy Vodka, Appleton Special, Appleton V/X, Patron Café Tequila, Hennessy Cognac, and a variety of wines, accompanied by a fine-dining menu courtesy of chef Jacqui Tyson and CPJ. This included jerk sausage marinara pasta, vegetable spring roll, panko and parmesan breaded chicken balls, escoveitch fish fillet bites, roasted red pepper and shrimp bisque, beef sliders, barbecued pigs tai,l and jerk pork among other delectable bites.
Complemented by the musical selections of DJ Zacho, Chromatic, DJ Smoke and Jazzy T, patrons were not afraid to rock their trendiest summer outfits for this luxury event. Our Outlook team captured some of the fashionistas who presented their best summer looks on the waterfront.
