Advanced Call Centre Technologies walked away with top prizes at the Montego Bay Free Zone employment creation awards ceremony held at the Montego Bay Free Zone (MBFZ) in Montego Bay on Friday, March 31.

The annual event, which started in 2005, normally recognises the firms operating in the Free Zone with the highest percentage growth, but for the first time, included an award for the entity with the highest employment by numbers.

The MBFZ is the birthplace of the lucrative Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector, and is the second largest employer behind tourism in Montego Bay, contributing approximately US$135 million annually.

MBFZ currently facilitates the employment of 8,700 directly, and another 3000 indirectly, growing by 7.32 per cent or 578 new employees last year.

The top ten firms were Professional Axxess; Unique Vacations; Market Track; Global Outsourcing Solutions; Allianceone; Island Outsourcers; Fargo Electronics; Global Gateway Solutions; National Credit Adjusters and Advance Call Centre Technologies.
