Therrestra opens headquarters in Jamaica

The Dominican Republic's Ambassador to Jamaica Dr Jose Tomas Ares German, and chairman of the Economic Growth Council, Michael Lee-Chin, were among the big wigs cementing the permanence of construction company, Therrestra here in Jamaica.
After 11 years on the island, the Dominican Republic company that has projects such as Royalton White Sands and Royalton Blue Waters, Zottry, and BahÌa PrincipÈ under its belt, officially opened its first Jamaican headquarters at Bogue City Centre in Montego Bay, James.
"Since 2004 Therrestra's main objective has been to provide high quality construction services and professionalism. Satisfaction and great results have led the company's growth, and today we are here full of pride because we have made progress," said the company's president, Hugo Perez.
Lauding the fertile environment that is Jamaica, Perez said the island was in full growth mode, and extremely attractive because of its economic stability and investment opportunities.
The company has in its employ more than 4,000 persons throughout the Caribbean.
"In each job we are a reflection of our values that are: commitment, punctuality, quality, proactivity and teamwork. This is our essence as a group. It is the reason to go forward, and it is what moves us to put at your disposal all our professionalism and the commitment of all that make up this company," he said.
In attendance at the event, were the minister with responsibility for economic growth, Dr Horace Chang; Mayor of Montego Bay, Councillor Homer Davis and his colleagues, Dwight Crawford and Mark McGann; businessman Lachu Ramchandani and Therrestra's operations manager, Danilo Arias.
