Headwraps have been around for ages and is a fashion trend that is like a revolving door - as soon as it is out, it is back in - but this time around, it seems like it is here to stay and Daniela Carey, has decided to dabble into these waters with her very own collection.

The nurse manager at a private spa in Kingston, had no intentions of tapping into designing. In fact, she left the creativity to her big sister Tamia Carey, who is now one of her biggest design inspirations. She sees her sister's passion through each of her pieces and all the creativity she puts in it, and she hopes to bring that same passion to her brand. However, it was one of those days that all women have - the bad hair days that really had Daniela thinking.

"My inspiration came from myself wearing headwraps frequently, because they were so convenient on days when I didn't have time to style my hair. So I thought that selling headwraps could help other women out there who have similar situations," she told Outlook.

Two months ago, Dandilion Headwraps was created - a collection of headwraps that Carey believes exudes elegance and style. She shops for high-quality fabrics from premium suppliers, to ensure that her pieces are not only beautiful, but durable.

When you hear the name, the first thing that comes to mind is the flower, but there is a lot more to it than the golden flower.

"The first prefix of the name came from my own name Daniela, and the 'dilion' figuratively describes the prowess, strength, and dominance of a lion, which is what the brand promotes for modern women," she explained.

Her hopes for the collection is for women to see headwraps as more than just a covering, but as an accessory like a nice pair of shoes or a pair of earrings. You can switch it up and change it just because you like it. She is currently working on her second line, as the first set is almost sold out. This collection she describes as chic.

As for what exactly to expect from Dandilion Headwraps, Carey says you just have to stay tuned.
