Island Child Style returns for 2018 showing
Island Child Style (ICS), the Caribbean's first dedicated runway show featuring children's collections, will produce its 2018 showing on Saturday, November 24, at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel.
The event, which will feature 14 of the Caribbean's top designers, will see youngsters between the ages of four to 16 years ripping the runway donning fashions from Neahlis, FlowerChild1999, Ayanna Dixon, Shenna Carby and others.
"Our last staging was very successful and we want to not only replicate but build out something even stronger this year. This is not only an amazing event for the children involved, but it is something they can act on and develop with parents, which makes it even more worthwhile to me and everyone involved,"said executive producer Michelle Gordon.
In addition to nearly 80 child models walking for these designers, the production and execution of the show this year will introduce another 15 young tweens and teens to a variety of production roles, as they 'shadow' professional members of the team. Ranging from make-up artistes to runway coaches to production assistants, these young children will benefit from weeks of professional 'training and mentorship'.
Island Child Style is a child-centered event that harnesses self-awareness, confidence and creativity for youngsters in fun and engaging ways. The event focuses on building Brand Jamaica, while fostering creativity and building confidence in children.
With an established track record of global model placement, Saint International returns as the model agency partner for Island Child Style's placement of older models. Locally based Point Global Agency and BOLD Model Management are the talent agency partners, as the scope for local ad placement continues to grow. Island Child Style also renews its partnership with Atlanta-based model agency owned and operated by Cynthia Bailey, the celebrity patron from ICS 2016.
