On Thursday, April 11, Keep Growing Limited held its first Joy of Retirement seminar at JamPro, Kingston 10. The seminar’s objective was to educate Jamaicans on the importance of retirement and how to go about planning and preparing for a graceful retirement. The Joy of Retirement was an informative and interactive seminar, which provided added knowledge and value to individuals.

National Commercial Bank Insurance Co. (NCBIC) was a partnering company of the seminar, as the largest segregated pension fund manager. Desmond Johnson’s (a representative of NCBIC) presentation was one of the most interactive. Jamaicans are very connected once it includes monetary rewards, as such, Desmond was more than elated to explain the process to future beneficiaries. He briefly gave a step-by-step guide to prepare for retirement.

“It is always an excellent idea to start your pension plan. The earlier you start, the more you earn at retirement. NCB Insurance is willing to achieve this goal of living well in retirement. We have an excellent track record of preserving pension funds capital or assets, and excellent returns. So we are willing and able to partner with corporations and individuals for retirement solutions,” said Johnson.

Sheryl Williams, National Insurance Scheme (NIS) spokesperson, explained thoroughly on the 14 retirement benefits of the NIS.

Attorney-at-law Ellory Taylor spoke on the legal aspect and consideration of retirement. “Know the law, monitor and make sure what’s happening in one’s investment and pension arrangement is consistent in what is legally prescribed,” Ellory Taylor disclosed.

The speaker’s presentation was noteworthy, according to the audience.
