Activation, the way forward

Meet Clarendon native Sophia Gabriel. Mother of two and Christian for 25 years, Gabriel has been making strides to help others find their way and walk in their God-given purpose.
A life and spiritual coach, banking professional, adjunct lecturer with a master of business administration degree and a bachelor’s in the same discipline, are just a few of the hats Gabriel wears in this life.
Passionate about the restoration of lives and purposeful living, Gabriel has leveraged her experience by serving and empowering people from all walks of life, who are on a journey led by God, to self-discovery. Out of this deep and intense passion, she has served as a member of the church in capacities such as pastor’s council, local and district youth director, lay preacher, Sunday-school and bible study teacher, and care group leader.
ACTIVATION – THE BOOK
Having garnered years of experience, Gabriel understands that the best way to navigate life is to walk through it knowing exactly why you are here.
“Finding meaning or purpose is critical to a fulfilling life as a Christian,” she said. “My story started about 10 years ago when I decided to leave my church and visit one closer to home. The pastor was ministering when he gave me the mic and told me to minister to the people. With much fear, I did, and to my surprise, it was well received by the congregation,” she recalled.
Gabriel describes that experience as her ‘activation’.
Since that time, she started writing the book, and the entire process took about nine months to be completed. In the book, you will spend time realising that you are equipped with all you need to access your destiny ... you may only need some ACTIVATION. The book also explores the wonderful truths about our design and God-ordained destiny, using her own story, and examples from the Bible, of God’s faithfulness and the desire of the spirit to stir up his gifts within us.
Gabriel speaks about the four keys of activation that you may have or will encounter on your own personal journey: location activation, voice activation, action activation, deactivation and lastly, reactivation.
Gabriel is currently pursuing a doctorate in strategic Christian leadership at Destiny College International, in order to aid herself and others along the rocky road of life. She was not hesitant to leave us with a bit of advice, “If we continue to just follow God, he will activate us and reactivate us, regardless of where we have been and what we have done.”
