Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ) executives joined teachers, parents, and well-wishers to celebrate the 2016 graduating class of the Marcus Garvey School at a ceremony held at the school on June 28. They presented school supplies, which will assist in preparing the young scholars for grade one when the new academic year begins in September. The SAJ works closely with the school, throughout the year, mentoring teachers and sponsoring activities such as the school-feeding programme.

The Ministry of Education reports that Marcus Garvey School is the best-performing basic school in its region.
