On March 28, the Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ) hosted a workshop titled 'Corporate Events Planning and Management' conducted by ace communicator Dania Beckford. The workshop provided participants with an interactive application of theories, major trends and successful business practices in event planning and management, while building the skills needed to become effective and profitable event planners.

Participants from various industries such as shipping, event management and gaming found the workshop useful in assisting them with planning galas, corporate functions, work-related and social events.

ENLIGHTENING EXPERIENCES

"The workshop was an enlightening experience for me," recalls Vershema Vickers, operations administrator at the SAJ. "Our facilitator, Dania Beckford, skilfully used a blend of theory and real-life examples to deliver a fun-filled seminar. I have already started utilising what I have learned in my simple day-to-day activities. I can't wait to work on my first major event!"

The SAJ will be hosting its Mastering Microsoft Excel series, aimed at maximising participants' productivity by training them in the hidden functions of Microsoft Excel.
