Seaboard Marine connects Savannah to its Latin America and Caribbean network
In June of this year, Seaboard Marine announced that it would be offering a new service which would impact its customers in Jamaica, as well as the wider Caribbean and Latin American markets.
Piero Buitano, Seaboard Marine vice-president – South America, said, “We are pleased to offer shippers fast and reliable service between Savannah and Latin America. Adding Savannah to the company’s service network not only enhances our ability to support customers with new and convenient transportation opportunities to key countries in South America, but also introduces our extraordinary level of customer service to a broader customer base.”
Stephen Bell, Seaboard Marine vice-president – Caribbean, added, “Seaboard Marine always seeks to generate synergies using our direct, regular service offerings to benefit all of our customers in the Caribbean Basin.”
In addition to this new service, Seaboard Marine announced enhancements to the existing North Atlantic Caribbean service. The weekly North Atlantic service will now call Kingston, Jamaica, as the first southbound call after departing Philadelphia and Brooklyn. The newly scheduled call will facilitate connectivity for both northbound and southbound cargo between the Northeast United States and the Caribbean Basin.
Of this enhancement, Bell continued, “... Our excellent on-time vessel performance lends itself for seamless connectivity and some of the fastest transit times in the markets we serve”.
Seaboard Marine’s local agent is Seaboard Jamaica Limited.
