SAJ members on full display at Expo Jamaica
THE LOCAL shipping and logistics industry was well represented at the 48th staging of Expo Jamaica, which attracted over 200 exhibitors from across various industries.
The Shipping Association of Jamaica, a port service provider and member-based organisation of terminal operators, stevedoring contractors, and shipping agents, facilitated the involvement of five of its members who used the opportunity to showcase their products and services. The participating companies were ADVANTUM, Atlantic Shipping, Jamaica Freight and Shipping Company Limited, Maritime and Transport Services Limited, and the SAJ Consultancy Group.
Expo Jamaica was held under the theme ‘Connecting the World to Jamaica’ and was formally launched by Prime Minister Andrew Holness, who also toured the exhibition on its opening day.
Other members of the SAJ who presented, but did so independently, included Jamaica Trading Services Limited, Kingston Wharves Limited, Lannaman and Morris Shipping, Laparkan Jamaica, and Seaboard Jamaica.
The biennial event was organised by the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association and welcomed over 15,000 patrons to the National Arena and the National Indoor Sports Centre from April 27-30.
