THE SHIPPING Association of Jamaica (SAJ) has opened registration for a comprehensive four-day Advanced Industrial Safety online workshop. This workshop is facilitated and certified by the Caribbean Maritime University (CMU).

The virtual course is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday, March 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Monday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p. It aims to equip participants with supervisory safety skills crucial for working on industrial sites.

The four-day programme will encompass a comprehensive safety-training regime, covering vital areas such as material safety data sheet, introduction to occupational health and safety, managing safety and health, emergency action plan, hazard communication, hazardous materials, hazardous substances and industrial hygiene, and process safety management.

Given the critical importance of industrial safety, this workshop serves as a prime opportunity for professionals and organisations to develop their expertise and contribute to the overall advancement of safety standards in the maritime industry. The SAJ encourages early registration due to the limited availability of spots for this transformative learning experience.

All relevant course materials will be provided to participants throughout the duration of the workshop for a comprehensive and immersive learning experience.
