AMCHAM President Gets International Award

Ron McKay, president of the American Chamber of Commerce Jamaica (AMCHAM) and chief executive officer of ADS Global, is the recipient of this year's International Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

It was presented at an event held recently at the exclusive Pyramid Club atop the BNY Mellon Center skyscraper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America.

Hosted by the Young Professional Caribbean Network (YCPN), founded by young businessman and Wharton graduate, Blane Stoddart, there was strong support from members of the Philadelphia business and philanthropic communities, Caribbean students of nearby universities, including the Ivy League, University of Pennsylvania, and friends of McKay from as far as South Africa.

McKay was commended for his strong business savvy, big heart for Jamaica and strong sense of corporate social responsibility, borne out through his support of philanthropic efforts, notably his support for ensuring young Caribbean athletes are able to participate in the yearly Penn Relays, held in the city.

The Penn Relays is the largest track and field meet in the United States and has occurred annually for 121 years.

ADS Global, based in Montego Bay, has been developing call centres with a wide variety of management solutions and consulting services since 1986.

The company has built and operated call centres for Fortune 1000 companies in many industries and employs hundreds of young Jamaicans.
