Patrons party in powder paint at Color Fest

As the myriad lights flashed to the pulsating beats, dusted colours danced in the sky and clouds of pure white got a taste of the rainbow.
That was the atmosphere of the highly anticipated powdered fete, Color Festival, last Sunday night.
Sabina Park hosted the event for the first time and eager patrons were in for a real treat as they utilised the space to prance and play.
The day-and-night affair saw the young and the young at heart arriving in several shades and styles of white or its fashionable offspring.
In between photo-ops and 'selfies', patrons helped themselves to the wide array of intoxicating libations provided by the stationed A Bar Restaurant and Lounge Bar. When they worked up hunger, they could be found placing orders at Truck Stop Grill and Bar and Hot Dog King, which both provided delicious offerings for all to savour.
EDM reigned supreme, and the crowd engaged in fist pumps and jumps while lost in a trance of excitement. The main musical feature was supported by its fusion with popular soca, hip hop, and dancehall hits.

Highlights of the night did not only come from the coloured powder painting the air and patrons. Other memorable moments included the girls who were invited on stage at intervals to entertain the crowd with their moves. Purewater not only quenched the thirst of those in attendance, but awakened the spirits of the party animals as it was thrown towards them, adding to the grand fanfare.
Some pulled out of the game out of fatigue or for medical reasons, and a few sported dust masks to prevent breathing difficulty posed by the coloured powder.
But for the home stretch, EDM was substituted by vibrant dancehall and soca, which came with more than its fair share of gyrating from singles and couples. All in all, Color Fest didn't disappoint and was once again a success.
