Last week, Dr Peter Phillips, leader of the People's National Party (PNP), hosted a media appreciation party at the Hope Gardens' Serengeti Restaurant. The soiree was attended by members of the media from across the island, as well as long-standing party supporters.

With wine and food in abundance, guests engaged in animated conversations, as colleagues who have been part of the industry for several years recounted past experiences. Several persons were elated to be part of the festivities. It was clear that the event was a chance for many persons to catch up.

Phillips at one point invited everyone to the dance floor. "There is an open dance floor and we invite you to come and enjoy yourself," he said. Many obliged and participated in a night that was not about politics, but having fun and letting one's hair down while rocking to the calypso beats that filled the air.
