All Correct makes no mistake with ‘Bob’ Mayall Trophy

Upset winner DIFERENTGENERATION (No.4), ridden by apprentice Marc Griffiths at odds of 19-1, gets up in the nick of time to beat the favourite FLYING MIRACLE and AWESOME CODE) in the sixth race (claiming $450,000-$400,000) over 1400 metres at Caymanas Park yesterday. DIFERENT GENERATION won by 1/2 length over FLYING MIRACLE, who also had 1/2 length to spare on AWESOME CODE.

The vastly improved ALL CORRECT easily defied topweight 57.0kg at Caymanas Park yesterday to win the annual renewal of the 3-y-o and up open allowance feature over a mile for the L.R. 'Bob' Mayall Memorial Trophy in post-to-post fashion.

Installed a 9-5 second favourite with Shane Ellis riding for champion trainer Wayne DaCosta, the 6-y-o gelding, by Storm Craft out of Royal Pizza won by 2 3/4 lengths from 3-5 favourite FRANFIELD under champion jockey Dane Nelson, covered the distance in the good time of 1:38.2 behind splits of 24.0 and a fast 1:10.2 for the first 1200 metres.

ALL CORRECT was well away from the outside post position in a seven-horse field and, as they sorted themselves out, was tackled by FRANFIELD on the inside approaching the 1,000-metre pole. But Ellis obviously had a ton in hand aboard ALL CORRECT, who opened up on FRANFIELD leaving the half mile to turn for home two lengths clear.

Thereafter, he kept on very strongly to beat FRANFIELD for the second time in recent months, having done so previously in the Bonnie Blue Flag Trophy over 1820 metres on March 7.

Owned by the Velvet Glove and bred by Mark and Susan Wates, ALL CORRECT was notching his third trophy race win this season, following the Ash Wednesday Trophy over 1,300 metres on February 18, and the Bonnie Blue Flag Trophy.

DaCosta, the leading trainer with over $7.2 million, had a second winner on the nine-race programme, thanks to a decisive victory with his 2000 Guineas runner-up, SEEKING THE DREAM, in the opening race over 1,820 metres for three-year-olds.

The first of two winners for Shamaree Muir on the card, the chestnut colt by Seeking The Glory out of the 2008 Triple Crown winner and 'Horse of the Year', Alsafra, has now won three races from six starts and is on course for the May 23 Lotto Classic (Governor's Cup) over 2,000 metres. He is owned by member of parliament Derrick Smith.

Muir had a second winner in the 16-1 outsider, SHINING LIGHT, for trainer Gary Griffiths in the very next race over 1,200 metres.

Jockey Paul 'Country' Francis, who rode three winners on Saturday, added a fourth with 4-5 favourite LOVETTA JONES in the seventh race (claiming $250,000-$210,000) over the straight, winning in a driving finish from HAWKEYE and highly fancied THIS IS IT.

LOVETTA JONES marked the third winner for trainer Marlon Anderson over the weekend, following Saturday's double comprising COUNTRY TRAIN (9-2) and EASTWOOD (7-2).
